Today Ben is one week old. This week has flown by! His looks are already changing so much. He definitely looks a lot like Grant did when he was born. I didn't think it possible, but Ben (for now) seems to be just as (if not more) laid back as Grant was. Grant had the usual baby issues in his first few weeks at home, but Ben seems to be adapting nicely. He sleeps about 3 to 4 hours between bottles (even at night) and only cries when he gets changed or bathed. He doesn't even cry for his bottle! He just eats his hands voraciously until he gets a bottle. He loves his swaddle blankets (thanks for letting me borrow Tristen's, Heather), and I think that is why he sleeps so well.
Grant is doing well with Ben too. He calls him "Bean." I was putting Ben in his swaddle blanket last night and he looked like a little burrito. So, since Grant calls him "Bean" and he looks like a burrito when he's swaddled, I've decided he's a bean burrito. HA! Corny, I know. Hee, hee! Every morning when Grant sees Ben he says "hi baby," and likes to kiss him on the forehead at night before he goes to sleep.
Chris had to go back to work today (boo hoo), and I think we were all definitely saddened by this. Chris and Grant have become attached at the hip pretty much. Grant woke up looking for daddy this morning, so I'm sure he'll be excited to see him this evening. Chris has been such a huge help to me, especially since mom and dad left on Saturday. He's been fixing bottles, giving Grant a bath, taking Grant to the doctor, and the list goes on. He's so good to me! I feel blessed to be a mom and even more blessed that God gave me a husband like him.
Here are some more pictures of Ben. I can't believe how much he's already growing! I want him to stay little! I love just holding and talking to him. He just stares at me like he knows what I'm saying to him. Also, check out the picture of Grant. Having two kids in the house, I've had to enlist some child labor. He looks pretty rough, doesn't he? HA! So far, so good. Being a mom of two is not as overwhelming as I thought it might be. Of course, that could all change at any point in time. But, for now, things are peachy.
I thought this last picture was pretty classic. I took this when we got home from Cracker Barrel last night. They were both out of it!
Later!
Jen

Bean is so sweet, and Grant looks so grown up these days. Quite a handsome household you have there! Can't wait to throw Tristen back into the mix. Have a fun trip home with the little ones.
Jennifer,
Can you email me your address and phone # for our class reunion info? I'm trying to help Josiah get all the info together.
Thank you!
