HOLY COW! I'm how far along? Okay, call me a little nutty and a little disorganized, but I really haven't been keeping track of this pregnancy quite like I did with Grant. I had to call my doctor's office yesterday, and I ended up speaking with the on-call doc. Well, she was checking my chart while she was talking to me and she asked me how far along I was. Well, I had no idea. I thought I was around 28 weeks. Well, apparently I'm 30 weeks along! Do you know what this means? I'm only 6-8 weeks from being full term. EEEK! This pregnancy has just flown by.

Today Grant and I had a lunch date at Chik-Fil-A and then went to Toys-R-Us to see if they had any tennis shoes on sale, as well as to see if they had a toddler-sized basketball hoop. Once we finished looking at the clothes and shoes we made our way through the toy aisles. All he kept saying (or screaming should I say) was "Oh Ga" (I haven't quite figured out where this phrase came from, but it's quite hilarious to hear). We made our way down the aisle with the power wheels cars and he just started screaming "Oh, biiig!" I laughed my way through the entire store. It was like he had never been into a toy store before. I'm assuming his new found enthusiasm is because he actually recognizes the things he sees and knows how to say some of the names of them. After we found his "bicketball" hoop he just kept saying "bicket, bicket, bicketball!" We walked through most of the aisles and I let him look at everything and take it all in. It was amazing to sort of see all of these wonderful toys through his eyes. He also especially liked the $.99 pinwheel. He loved to watch me blow on it so it would spin really fast. He couldn't quite blow on it hard enough to get it to spin so he just moved it with his hand which worked just as well. So, we left with a bicketball hoop and a pinwheel.
When we got home he couldn't wait for me to open the box. Once I opened the box I gave him the rubber basketball inside. His exact words were "oooh." When I got it all put together he had a blast putting the ball through the hoop. Of course, he tested the hoop's durability by putting various other items through it as well, such as his cars and other toys. When Chris got home from work they started shooting hoops together. Grant would get aggravated with Chris when he was hogging the ball which was quite comical. By the time they were shooting hoops together Grant wasn't just rolling the ball over the rim into the net he was actually throwing the ball and making shots. Maybe he'll be like his dad and be good at sports. If not, that's okay too. I have plenty of fun watching him have a blast with his bicketball hoop for now.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I think Grant's verbal version of "basketball" is my favorite word I've ever heard! Not just the word, but the expressions required to speak it. :) Way to go with the hoops Grant!
I hope you don't get anymore uncomfortable - at least you look great!
Have a great weekend and I'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning.
